Refund and Cancellation Policy

For the Katlego Finance SME platform

Last updated 22 August 2026

1. Scope of this policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy applies to the Katlego Finance SME platform only, and covers subscription fees, invoice protection guarantee fees, and payment processing fees. Katlego Professionals and Katlego Students have their own separate refund policy, published on their respective websites.

2. Subscription cancellation

You may cancel your Growth or Pro subscription at any time from your account settings, or by emailing support@katlegofinance.co.za. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to your paid tier's features until that date. We do not provide a partial refund for the unused portion of a billing period in which you cancel.

3. Cooling off period on first subscription

If you are subscribing to a paid tier for the first time, you may cancel within 7 days of that first subscription and receive a full refund of the subscription fee charged, provided that you have not, during that period, used a feature that is exclusive to the paid tier, such as issuing an invoice guarantee, generating a payment link, or running a pre-extension credit check. Where you have used such a feature, the cooling off right in respect of the subscription fee falls away for that billing cycle, consistent with the position under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, since performance of the service has begun at your request.

4. Invoice protection guarantee fees

Once you confirm and an invoice guarantee is bound, the guarantee fee for that invoice is non refundable. This reflects that real risk has, from that point, been assumed on your behalf by our underwriting partner, in the same way that an insurance premium is not refundable once cover has attached. The following limited exceptions apply, at our discretion, following review:

  • The guarantee was issued as a result of a verified technical error on our platform, rather than any action or omission of yours.
  • The guarantee was issued in duplicate for the same invoice due to a verified system error.
  • Our underwriting partner declines to bind the guarantee after your fee has been charged, in which case you will be refunded in full.

To request a review under this section, contact support@katlegofinance.co.za within 14 days of the guarantee fee being charged, with the invoice reference and a description of the issue.

6. Failed or duplicate payments

If you are charged in error, charged twice for the same billing period, or believe a payment has failed to process correctly, contact support@katlegofinance.co.za with your account details and the transaction date. We will investigate and, where an error is confirmed, correct it and refund any amount incorrectly charged within a reasonable time.

7. No refunds for breach of acceptable use

We reserve the right to withhold any refund otherwise available under this policy where your account is suspended or terminated for breach of the Acceptable Use section of our Terms and Conditions, including fraud, submission of fictitious invoices, or misuse of the credit check or benchmarking features.

8. How refunds are processed

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method used, through our payment services partner, and will generally reflect in your account within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank's own processing times, which are outside our control.

9. How to contact us

For any refund or cancellation request, contact us at support@katlegofinance.co.za. Please include your account details and, where relevant, the specific invoice, transaction, or billing date concerned, so we can assist you as quickly as possible.

10. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, to the extent it applies to your business, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or any other applicable South African law. Where any provision of this policy conflicts with a right you cannot lawfully waive, your statutory right prevails.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy at any time, at our own discretion, to reflect changes to our platform, our business, or applicable law. An updated version takes effect from the moment it is published on this page, and the date shown at the top of this page tells you when it last changed.

We are not obliged to notify you of a change, and you should not rely on receiving a notice. It is your responsibility to review this page regularly so that you are aware of the current version. We will make reasonable efforts to keep this page up to date and to show the date of the most recent update, but that is a courtesy to you and not an obligation on us.

If you continue to access or use the Katlego Finance platform after an updated version is published, you accept the updated version and it becomes binding on you. If you do not accept an updated version, you must stop using the platform, and you may cancel your account in accordance with our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Where we have kept a previous version, we will provide it on request to support@katlegofinance.co.za.

Where South African law expressly requires us to notify you of a particular change, including any notification required under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, we will give that notice.
